Blair Armstrong (00:42)
All right. All right. All right. Good morning. Good afternoon. Good evening. Wherever you may be when you are watching or listening to this. If this is your first time here, I am Blair Armstrong and we are old guys still rock. So just said I'm Blair Armstrong of team Armstrong, Cobalt banker. I am a global luxury specialist in the world of residential real estate here in the beautiful Coachella Valley. Hopefully.

Most of you know where the Coachella Valley is. If you know where Palm Springs is, if you know where Palm Desert is, if you know where La Quinta is, that's basically the Coachella Valley kind of stretches out from east to west or west to east, whatever you want to do. But we are in our spring, if you may. We're going to have a ripe 74 degrees right now. Crystal blue sky minus these weird lines that just once in a while appear. And then all of sudden it rains. So I don't know what those lines mean, but you know.

Brent Wright (01:37)
Hehehehehe

Blair Armstrong (01:40)
I mean, who has, there's no conspiracy about that. They just randomly show up in triangles and squares. So it's just weird. Anyway, again, if this is your first time here, we're old guys still rock. You see another guy on the screen that is not talking right now while he talking a little bit. His name is Brent Wright. He is the other host of this show and a good friend of mine for almost 30 years, but Brent Wright incorporated man with many, many different hats.

Brent Wright (01:41)
Where's your tin hat today, buddy?

Blair Armstrong (02:08)
from payroll companies to multiple property owners. He is a financial contributor to his wife's wellness center called Wright Wellness Center located in beautiful Eugene, Oregon. Body shops, detail shops. Just started, you just started with a contingent of guys, some venture capitalists. And if you have YouTube TV, you'll see this a lot, but he started bustedtees.com.

I swear every other commercial is bustedtease.com. So it's awesome that I see my best friend. It's actually honest to God, dude, it's kind of cool. I'm not mad because I've known you for so long and I've known all the things that you've put together. And I don't think that you get enough recognition and not that this busted T's going to give you any more recognition because not a lot of people know who's behind it, but it's cool knowing that your best friend is up on that screen, kicking ass and doing cool shit.

Brent Wright (02:34)
You

Blair Armstrong (02:58)
a lot of people wish that they could do. So congratulations on that, man. And then obviously your PR, yeah, your PR team does one hell of a job, but it's awesome, dude. I always try to get my phone, I'm like, my God, I gotta send this to you. It's like, you already know what it looks like. Like I'm gonna send you something that you already know what it looks like. It's kind of funny. I'm a little kid trying to catch a movie star or something like that. but again, I'm gonna get real quick.

Brent Wright (03:02)
Dude, thank you so much. Gives, a little tear in my eye.

That's awesome. Yeah.

Blair Armstrong (03:26)
We are an episode number 131 today if you really want to know who we are I'm feeling good right now there's a lot of stuff that's happening the last couple days and Brent reached out to me last week like dude you kind of feel off I have been off we're gonna talk about it today a lot Because of Pathy, you know, we're talking about what path do you choose type of thing? But if you want to really know who we are There's a hundred thirty other episodes that really kick ass in one way or another So go back and check them out

And you guys are doing a really good job, by the way. You're starting to subscribe more, starting to tune in more. So we'd love that. So the momentum, even though it's taken us 130 episodes, it's finally kind of growing. Know that we're going to still have some valleys. We get that, but thank you guys for your support. Keep sharing the show. Keep hitting that subscribe button and keep hitting that notification bell. I promise you, you're going to get something out of every freaking episode. And by the way, you can go ahead and look up to statistics of podcasts.

There's not many of us that say we have 100 as of today, 131 episodes and we're still going strong. So love you for support. That being said, I think I've done enough promotion for the week. How the hell are you dude?

Brent Wright (04:32)
Hahaha.

I'm good, I have some stats for you. These are freaking phenomenal stats and this is why you're seeing us everywhere. Busted Teas in the last seven days had 90 million views and 5,000 additional followers. And we have like, we're pushing 50,000 followers on it. Our Death Star Digest, which is one of our other niche marketing ⁓ on Instagram, had 130 million views in the last seven days.

Blair Armstrong (04:48)
incredible.

Mm-hmm.

Brent Wright (05:03)
and had another 10,000 followers. And we're just cooking with gas. It is.

Blair Armstrong (05:07)
It's amazing,

Brent Wright (05:10)
This is a long-term investment for us and it is definitely paying out in spades. The wellness center is booking out. My wife is killing it. Her and her team are doing an amazing job. She is stacking fun tickets every day and I'm extremely proud of her and her team. I'm extremely proud of all of our teams and all of our businesses. And I just can't tell you.

Blair Armstrong (05:12)
yeah, for sure.

Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Brent Wright (05:37)
how good it feels to hear what you said. You've been kind of knocking at the door of my tear factory here the last couple of weeks. And I'm grateful for that. are, after my wife and kids, you are one of my biggest cheerleaders. And I just want to say I'm grateful for you. And hopefully you feel supported in the same way that you're supporting me. And if I'm not, call me out on.

Blair Armstrong (05:39)
Yeah.

So buddies are for dude. ⁓

Yeah.

Well, dude, there's not many friends that you have, and this goes for everybody. So here's a little learning lesson. If you have those friends and you may have maybe two or three of them at most typically, but your friends know your vibe. And this dude, shit, I'm not gonna get to that spot. So anyway, I'm not gonna pull ahead of my lip, but this dude knows my vibe,

honest to God, you know, just with everything going on to is our, our family is just getting their ass kicked left and right. We're not the only ones out there. So we feel your pain, but when your friends know like, dude, I know we talk and I know you kind of seem good, but it's not clicking the right way. And like, Hey, I'm just checking on you. That's your dude. That's your check. Whoever it is. Do that. I mean, outside your wife, outside your husband.

Brent Wright (06:44)
Mm-hmm.

Blair Armstrong (06:53)
you're going to have those two or three friends that know like something's not clicking right. It means he sounds like he's okay, but I just I feel his vibes not clicking. So I'm literally going out in the golf course to go chase a white ball to kind of disappear for three and a half hours. And it's like, Hey man, how are doing? And I'm like, it's just been, it's, it's stupid little shit that adds up and just live stuff. And

but it's good to have those guys. if you have, what Bracely Brett said to is even though that I kind of sound like his cheerleader and he kind of like, I hope I'm giving something back. Your friends know.

You should pay the bottom line. Your friends know that you guys are vibing each other and I can't think of better words to say that. So. ⁓

Brent Wright (07:33)
since we're old guys,

it's still rock. There's a five finger death punch, which I'm a huge fan, right? That's driving music to me, but there's a song that says, it's called a little bit off today. And that's kind of my theme song for every day is because every day I wake up and everything's good because I woke up and then everything starts to go sideways. And then I have to work through it.

Blair Armstrong (07:36)
Yeah.

Brent Wright (07:56)
And then I have to create a level of emotional intelligence, which we've talked about several times on here, to be able to be in uncomfortable situations and to be okay with that. And so we're gonna get into it a little bit. Today's conversation is super powerful for me, but I wanna share one thing. I shared this with you off camera, but I am famous because of your wife's post.

Blair Armstrong (08:12)
Yeah. Yeah.

Ha!

Brent Wright (08:21)
So if you can't see this, says, does being a Duck fan lead to baldness? And there's a picture of me on the field, with the field in the background. And I actually sent you this picture of me at this while they were doing this with the halftime show. Right? And that's super funny to see that. That was awesome. Yeah.

Blair Armstrong (08:29)
randomly.

Yeah.

It's so crazy, right?

And it will cause pause in pause in this.

Brent Wright (08:48)
So my

bald spot's famous as a duck fan and at that game in particular, which by the way, ⁓ USC, we did a good job on that one. We fought the good fight. yeah, again, back to today's conversation. Super powerful because it's gonna sit and land.

Blair Armstrong (08:52)
Hahaha

my god.

That was a good job.

Brent Wright (09:08)
that you're at the crossroads every day of who you are today and who you're becoming tomorrow. And just so you guys are aware, I formulate my thoughts about this during the week and then I put this in and organize it on my notes. So I'm not, as my wife says, you always seem distracted when you're in here. And so I'm not distracted. I'm looking over at my notes because I had them down and I found myself to be looking down and I wanna look up even though I'm looking at this other screen. So.

My war room is four screens wide and they're all like 26 to 40 inch screens. And yeah, so I've got my notes over here. I've got you guys over here and I've got some other things in the background over here, but so I'm not distracted April. I'm really looking at my notes and I'm trying to look up instead of looking down at my handwritten notes. Okay. So the question is super simple on this subject. The answer is not so simple.

Blair Armstrong (09:53)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Brent Wright (10:02)
That's where the magic and the challenge lives is how will you pick your path? Not just in, like for instance, we talked about your situation off camera. It's, but how are you dealing with that? Like you had a choice today. You had some things land in your lap that were unexpected and your comment said, nope, let's move forward.

Blair Armstrong (10:13)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Mm-hmm. Yep.

Brent Wright (10:28)
Let's do this. And so we're doing this podcast today in light of the fact that my brother is struggling with some things and struggling with some family inputs, which we'll not get into, but I'm grateful that you persevered for you, for you, not just for me, but for you and our fans.

Blair Armstrong (10:43)
Yeah. Yeah.

Well, that's my, you know, that's my word of the year for people. We talked a little bit of this off camera and you guys still have time for it, but I suggest there's a, there's a book out there. It's old. It's actually was introduced to me years ago when I was in BNI in Oregon, a word of the year by Robin, or it's not by Robin Shuckman, but Robin Shuck Shuckman brought this out to one of our, our training thing. So I am, I'm going to give you a little thing. If you guys have some opportunity, it's going to be hard to find cause it's not really in publication, but you can find it on Amazon.

word of the year, I'd I'd buy like 10 copies of that and just hand them out whenever. But so we sat down at the beginning and actually about mid November, about the beginning of November, so I went down with our team and you know, I gave everybody a book. I said, okay, you got two weeks to read this, digest it and really write down words that mean to you, but pick one. What's one word that's going to define not only who you are, but

enhance or put light on your purpose of life. And that's a whole other thing about being a purpose. So getting down to it, my word was perseverance today. And Brent gave me an out. And we talked a little bit about this last week. When things are going sato, we give people outs. And if you take advantage of that out, what are you really doing? What are you really

How are you going to circumvent things when things get really bad? Are you like, okay, well, I'm just gonna bow out. So that word kicked in or triggered in my mind, no, we need to persevere. We'll just move some stuff around. I'll jump around. I'll get back to this and I'll just, I'll change my schedule. That's why it's, any entrepreneurial schedule is that way. It changes on a second. You could have, it's a train wreck. know, Chrissy asked me every day, so what do you have in your plan? I've just learned to say,

Brent Wright (12:22)
Mm-hmm.

It's a train wreck. Organized train wreck.

Blair Armstrong (12:32)
I've got real estate today. And that means is I have five things on my critical list that I need to go ahead and take care of. Okay. But there are going to be 40 different things that are going to make those five critical things very difficult to get done because I have to take care of this person or there's a fire over with this contract over here. There's a family situation. There's a dog situation. is a whatever. And you have to just

Brent Wright (12:58)
Okay.

Blair Armstrong (12:59)
You

have to maneuver through those, but I still get to get my five critical tasks done at the end of the day. So my, again, perseverance, Brent gave me an out. Do you want to punt and let's go to tomorrow? Let's go to Saturday, Sunday, but it's not all I'm doing is pushing it down the road and it that's not going to solve anything. That's not going to make the situation any better. Now, again, if someone's dying, probably a little bit different situation, but no one was really dying.

to that we wish which causes hurdle we just we'll get through this it's it's an hour's worth of our time and then we can adjust things accordingly i don't have to i don't have

Brent Wright (13:35)
I use this

statement, this too shall pass.

Blair Armstrong (13:39)
Yeah, yeah, I don't have to do my appointments today, but I have we feel and you know, we we have I think we've missed I don't even think we've missed a week. I think we pushed it back a couple days I don't think that we've missed a week out 131 episodes, but anyway This is not important for us Brett and I this is important for all you guys to watch this or listen to this because our job one of our purposes is to

give you a golden nugget, we feel that this has kind of been one of our blessings, one of our purposes, one of our spiritual attributes, whatever it may be, to help people that are stuck and knowing that you're not the only one that are going through certain things in your life. So when Brett talks about how are you gonna choose your path, you know, and you'll end up with something a little bit.

at end of this episode, which your tagline is, but you choose your path is, okay, this is what I have to do. This is what I have planned for. I'm going to get diverted on this. And I love this topic. I'm going to get back and let you get back to this because there's some stuff that has been trying to divert me off of my path, off my goals already. I have reacted wrong way in a couple of them, but I go back and say, you know what? Okay, that wasn't the best way to handle it.

I was a little passionate, probably said a lot of bad words, but that's not who I'm supposed to be. And that's not who I want to be. But so anyway, when you talked about those, when this came up to mind, you came up with this topic about a week ago or just a couple of days ago. What were some of the things that were triggering for you to kind of like, Hey, were you feeling like you were going away from your path? Or do you feel like, Hey, I'm locked into my path. How did this topic come up in your brain?

Brent Wright (15:18)
Mm-hmm. ⁓

Thank you for asking that because it is super important. As we're...

As I'm coaching other individuals, most of my coaching clients are in the picking their path for 2026 and evaluating what went well and what didn't go well in 2025. You know, everybody says, 2025 gonna be my year. Well, was it? And then what do you need to adopt, adapt or change?

Blair Armstrong (15:50)
Yeah.

Brent Wright (15:59)
to make 2026 different. And so, how will you pick your path, not just in business, but in personal?

And quite frankly, personal, professional and business are three different segments that we dive into. So for instance, one of my coaching clients, Gerard, he's been on here. We have picked a path that is gonna be fruitful in three to five years. And so then we have to define all of the...

business goals that are associated with it, his professional goals, professional development goals, if you will, and his personal goals. And so some of the things that I wrote down is that most people drift. And quite frankly, most entrepreneurs drift. They pick a plan, they don't stick to the plan, or they stick to a 20 % or 30 % of that plan.

very few people actually decide and then commit. And then an even smaller number of people design their path with intention.

And today we're gonna unpack what it means to choose your path consciously, what gets in the way and how you actually take the first step no matter where you're at in life.

So we grew up believing that there's one right path and a dozen wrong paths. Like I've told you about this in our podcast several times, like I retired at 35. I didn't think I was gonna live much past 28 quite frankly with the path that I was on. And so the fact that I had designed a plan just in case, seven years seemed like a large number to me at that time.

Blair Armstrong (17:21)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Right, right.

Brent Wright (17:38)
And as we know, it wasn't. Seven years goes by super quick. I bought some of our shop cars. I was looking at them today, sitting in the parking lot after they got pulled out of the shop and everything. I bought those cars eight years ago.

And I was sitting there reflecting on that this morning, just how much I've changed in eight years, just how much I've been blessed in eight years. And had I not had an intent on my path, how that might've been modified and how that have, you know, might've been changed. You know, school trains us to think that success is linear. Choose a career, climb a ladder, retire, die, right?

But life doesn't work that way. Paths are made, not found. And they often start as a whisper in your back of your mind or a curiosity, not a fully formed roadmap. We've talked about this before. How do I get to San Francisco? Well, you go on the map and you pick your path and then you follow that path to get to San Francisco, right?

but it's truly your path is built by your decisions, not your destiny. And when you remove the pressure of getting it right, you actually free yourself to actually take the first step or a step or a continuous step in that direction, in that right direction for you.

So that's kind of my first set of notes on that. What are your thoughts on those?

Blair Armstrong (19:08)
So my thoughts are there to hear this and because this ties into I love this because we can go ahead and we can choose a goal, right? And we can choose a path like, okay, this is what we're gonna we have to do A, B, C, D, blah, blah, blah, blah. We just talked about this in our Monday meet. And I'm having people to, you I want you guys to encourage them to define a purpose to put down goals. And we're gonna check on a daily and weekly and monthly basis.

where you are with those goals. Now I also said, I'm not your boss.

I don't pay you, I don't supply you with business and do some different things. We help each other, we work as a team, we do some different things. In essence, we're all independent. Good.

Brent Wright (19:50)
but you

self-impose leadership ⁓ on yourself, right? To guide these folks to success.

Blair Armstrong (19:53)
Self-implosed leadership, right, right.

So you can go ahead and I can encourage you, I can hold you accountable, but to any day, it is really up to you how far you go down that path. I can't get mad at you, I can't fire you, I can't dock your pay, I can't tell you your POS because they're your goals. So I come across this today.

Brent Wright (20:08)
Mm-hmm.

Blair Armstrong (20:20)
which goes along with everything that you just said, maybe in different words. You've probably contemplated quitting something important. In fact, you may feel like giving up right now. You had a dream and pursued your goal with gusto, but hit some resistance and your efforts stalled out. You've had a little to no progress. Frustration sets in. You're discouraged. You feel like giving up. There's a relationship you tried to restore. You reached out to initiate healing, but it didn't go well.

Things are worse today than they were before, which hits home for me. Not with my wife, just with some family stuff. You may be working to save your marriage, but your spouse isn't cooperating. You're running out of fight. You've been praying and praying for your child to come back to Jesus or for healing financial provisions or for God to help you overcome addiction, but your prayers aren't getting to the result that you want. And you're almost out of hope. You've battled debilitating depression,

And the pain simply won't subside. You don't want to give up on life, but you wonder how much longer you'll have to have the strength to go on, which we've talked about in our podcast in the past too. I've talked to people who want to give up and they say, I'm done. You might feel that way. If so, let me remind you, if you're not dead, you're not done. I understand, right?

Brent Wright (21:39)
Amen.

Blair Armstrong (21:41)
If I understand that you're discouraged and you feel like giving up, but again, in our belief, God has more for you. More love to give, more people to help, more people to share, more friendships to make. You may feel tired to get excited about more. You may be thinking more, I'm so tired, I can't do more. If that's true, consider this, get into the book, Getting Things Done, which is done by David Allen.

Much of the stress that people feel doesn't come from having too much to do. It comes from not finishing what they've started. I have a problem with that. Procrastination is a bad deal, right? Could the issue be not that you have too much to do, you're not yet done? Do you have some unfinished business? So why does this matter so much? If you have some regrets,

Brent Wright (22:28)
Mm.

Blair Armstrong (22:34)
because of things you quit on in the past, or if you're agonizing right now about giving up on something that really matters, you know why this is a big deal. You don't wanna feel that way anymore. But it goes even deeper because this is not just about now, it's about the rest of your life. When you do know what you do now determines who you become. Because every decision you make is a vote on your future. Today's decision are votes on what kind of person you will be tomorrow.

Anytime you quit you vote on becoming a person who doesn't have what it takes and it doesn't finish what you started If you tempted to quit If you tempted to quit what God's called you to start and maybe because you you care about something more than you care about God We're all tempted to quit we're all we're all tempted to put something above and ahead Of his will for our lives. What is the thing that you what is that thing for you?

Brent Wright (23:17)
Mm.

Okay.

Blair Armstrong (23:27)
you may want to acknowledge it and declare that it's not going to stop anymore. Every time you're, I'm trying to think of here, are we going there? Bottom line is pick a path. There is going to be some extreme, extreme potholes. There are going to be, and it goes back to kind of the four agreements, be impeccable with your word. You're going to get, you're going to, people and things are going to try to deter you from your path. Do not focus on that. Focus on your goals. It's,

Brent Wright (23:52)
Mm-hmm.

Blair Armstrong (23:55)
Don't make it your life, but know that your goal and that goal could really span out what Brent said. You were talking about what Gerard, you guys are talking about stuff that realistically is not going to happen for three to five years. There's no end to that path with Gerard at this, that he can see right now, right? Cause three to five years is a long ways away. So that I think that's what so fast, but is the thing is so Gerard in six, Gerard in three months hits his major pothole.

Brent Wright (24:12)
to them.

But it goes, but it goes so fast.

Blair Armstrong (24:23)
to three years over, four months in. All right, go ahead.

Brent Wright (24:26)
Well, yeah, and so it

goes into, I'm gonna expand on that. So it goes into the three questions that shape your direction. And I think this is where you're going. One, the first question is what pulls your energy? And I'll expand on these in a second. The second one is what you're willing to suffer for, back to what you said. And number three is what do you wanna become along the way? So let's break down the first one. What pulls your energy? Not what you should do.

not what people expect, but what naturally draws you in.

The second one, what you're willing to suffer for. Every path has friction. Which challenges feel meaningful and what struggles feel worth it? And then number three, what do you want to become along the way? Your path should shape a version of you that feels aligned, more honest, more alive and move you in that direction, move yourself. Your answers don't need to be perfect, they just need to be honest.

You need to be straight up with yourself. Is that pothole?

part of the journey or part of the destination.

And only you can decide if that pothole is worth going through.

Blair Armstrong (25:41)
I'm coming to the understanding that potholes are worth going through because we are set here to be examples to others that may not think that the pothole is worth going through. And I realistically in the next 14 days are gonna go through a major, in my mind, a major pothole. For those of you who've been following us for 130 episodes, again, 131 episodes today, I have been semi-open that

my relationship with my parents is not the best. And there are some potholes that I have been circumventing because I just don't want to deal with it. It is much easier to kind of push them off to the side, which we just talked about, which I just read to you what Brenda has been talking to you about as well, is that you can go ahead and say, yeah,

I went through that pothole before. It didn't work out. I don't want to do. But how does that help my word of the year is to persevere? How does that help me, someone who's watching me through a microscope or from 20,000 feet? See, Blair gave up again. He said he was going to do something and he didn't do it. What type of example or what type of leadership skills? And I truly believe that I've been put on this one of my purposes, one of my spiritual attributes, if you may.

is to lead, another one is to be a connector. I've come very comfortable with that. I'm great with it. I'm good with, I'm good at it. I am good at it. And you know, me saying that right there, that's a big step for me. I own it. I'm learning to own my, which I like, I'm good at that. could look somebody in there. Right. Right. Right. Yeah. You know, it's just like, you know, whatever I can look somebody I'm like, yeah, I'm good at this.

Brent Wright (27:11)
You're good at it.

Mm-hmm. Yeah.

That's almost its own pothole that you've been stepping in and out for most of the time I've known you.

Blair Armstrong (27:33)
And it's in take it or leave it, but I know that I'm good at it and tell me that I'm not. So anyway, I have to answer some stuff and 98 % of my being right now is like, F it. I am not going through this because I got to a certain point, I opened the door and all of a sudden all this stuff is coming in and they're like, okay, well, you need to answer this and you're gonna do this and we're gonna do this.

Hold on a second. This is not an intervention. Okay, I am trying to, well, it's being manipulated to be that way. I'm coming in here to start the process, which could take a long time, by the way, of rebuilding or at least getting to the next step of rekindling a relationship.

Brent Wright (28:07)
Could be.

Blair Armstrong (28:27)
There's a lot of people out there that have problems with their in-laws and their family and stuff like that. I'm not the only one. I'm being an example for you guys that are listening to this and watching it that my word this year is to persevere. It is not going to be a fun journey, but I am persevering. And that's not so much for, there's a lot about it that it's going to help me. There's a lot about it that it's going to help others. But my relationship with God,

And I know sometimes we get heavy with this and sometimes we don't. But my relationship with God is he's given me so much.

that I owe it to him to trust him that no matter what happens to this, I'm gonna be okay. And that's my, there's a comfort zone to it, there's a lot of anxiety into this, but I'm going to persevere regardless how the situation turns out. I'm going to give this stuff to us, but there are going to be guardrails on that. There's going to be expectations and I don't know what the other word is that for there.

So if you come up with it, go ahead and blurt them out.

There's just, it's going to be in a box. We're gonna be able to do this, we're gonna be able to do this. It's not gonna be a kumbaya log fest, maybe later on down the road, but there's going to be little steps from point A to point B. Once we have this conversation, it doesn't mean everything's okay. It's that we're gonna get to the next step, we're gonna get to the next step, and we're gonna get the next step. And if you wanna try to throw a rock in those steps, that's fine, but we're still going to get to the next step.

into the next step because regardless of what this person's this realistically this lion's den that I'm walking into regardless of what their reactions are I'm going to persevere through this one way or another

Brent Wright (30:12)
Well, and this goes into the next thing that I'm gonna summarize is the obstacles that block your path, which is kind of what you've been talking about. People don't stay stuck because they lack opportunity. They stay stuck because, and you've kind of expanded on some of these, but I'm gonna summarize them. They wait for permission. They fear judgment. They're overwhelmed by too many choices. And they expect clarity before action.

Clarity doesn't come first, action creates clarity. We've talked about this at Nausium, action, not words, right? We even had a podcast about that early on. ⁓ You don't discover your path by thinking about it, you discover it by walking it.

Blair Armstrong (30:49)
Mm-hmm.

So good right there. So good.

Brent Wright (30:59)
And some key features to that is that you have to pick your path with intention. And here's some framework to choose your next direction or your path. You got to define your North Star. One sentence, one word, not a title or achievement, but a feeling or impact that you want to create.

Blair Armstrong (30:59)
Mm-mm.

Brent Wright (31:21)
Step two is to trim the noise. Remove everything that doesn't align with your North Star. If it drains you, distracts you, or doesn't move the needle, it's a detour, not a path.

So that pothole isn't a detour, that's the path.

but that exit right before that pothole, you're like, nope, gonna go around it.

Blair Armstrong (31:40)
Yeah.

Brent Wright (31:41)
That's a detour that will distract

you from picking your path with intention. And then I think it's more important, and you kind of talked about this earlier, is to choose your next micro path. Break it down into bite-sized nuggets. You've heard this analogy before, how do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time, right? So you gotta choose your micro path.

Don't define the whole staircase, just define the next step that's gonna move you forward and focus on that next step. And then break down that next step into micro steps as well.

And here's where the key is, we did 75 hard.

75 days will create a habit. We talked about it before, it's 21 days, but 21 days only defines the habit, doesn't really create it. And then at 60 days, it becomes a routine. And then usually at 90 days, if you commit to 90 days, then it becomes a habit, not forever.

but just long enough to see results and momentum and truth and measured results. And then step five of this is to reevaluate and adjust. Paths evolve. They're not one path. What matters is that you're shaping the path, not just drifting on autopilot. And this really kind of picks at your...

at your wound, if you will, that you brought up earlier, that you just go on autopilot and ignore.

Blair Armstrong (33:17)
And it's bad, dude. It does not solve anything. Procrastination is horrible. Horrible. So keep going. I'm sorry.

Brent Wright (33:19)
And so.

Yeah, that's all right. And then the next thing is, what if you choose the wrong path?

Blair Armstrong (33:35)
I would to answer that question. I don't know if it's choosing the wrong path. It's almost trusting the process because you're going to feel like you choose the wrong path because it's going to get super hard. And so I don't there's no wrong path, right? It's just I just and that's where I'm at right now. What if I go down this road and it doesn't turn out the way that I want to? Well, then I'm not trusting the process. I'm trying to circumvent it in and what I I am.

Brent Wright (33:45)
Well, there is no wrong path.

Blair Armstrong (34:01)
basically trying to be a prophet, you may, seen into the future of something that I don't know how anything's going to turn out. So the only thing I could do is persevere down this path. And when the potholes come up, answer those potholes, fill them in the way that they need to be filled in, and then keep moving forward.

Brent Wright (34:23)
Well, and then on that back to it, there is no wrong path as we stated, but there are only paths that teach you faster and paths that teach you slower. And the more painful the path, the more thorns in the road, the more boulders that you have to go around, the more potholes that you have to maneuver through or fill, either teach you faster or slower.

and every choice gives you feedback and information.

And here's the little nugget, every step reveals more of who you are.

And the only wrong path is refusing to choose one.

Period.

Blair Armstrong (35:03)
Yeah, because you hear that right, well, it's the path I chose.

chose it, what's wrong with it? Well, this, this is, so have you got to the end of that path yet? Persevered to the journey. Have you walked through that stuff? Yes, all have free will. We understand that. Everybody understands that we have free will, we get to choose what we want to choose. But if you're not happy with that path,

Brent Wright (35:18)
Have you created action?

Blair Armstrong (35:28)
What are the corrections? What are the potholes you're going to to fill? Because you're on that path. Regardless, you can go ahead and go around it, but sooner or later you're going to come back to that path. You have to cross that bridge sooner or later. To get back on there, because we have, I think at the end of the day, now that I'm sitting here, think about this. We've been given one path from the beginning since we were born. You can have 8000 different directions, but it comes back to one path. And my faith.

you know, after many, many different, you know, after many years of understanding is my path is, you know, when I go see Jesus, you know, I cannot wait for the words, you've done well, my good and faithful servant. That's my path. And it may not be everyone's path to hear that stuff. And that's fine with you. That's my path. Your path is not my path. That's OK. And I'm not better than my path is not better than your path.

Brent Wright (36:06)
then.

Blair Armstrong (36:19)
not saying that at all. That's what I cannot wait to hear. So my path of those potholes, which Brett and I have talked about for so many different words, and as I say, every one of our podcasts has a common thread that leads from one week to the next week, two weeks, because we're constantly evolving. We're constantly continuing down our path to not only help ourselves in so many different ways for Therapy Thursdays, but we're also

We're also giving you guys golden nuggets because so many of you are stuck and you're going to try to find it for 29.95 out of a book and stuff like this. This is real life shit. There's no, we're not asking you to pay for our podcast. We're not asking you for pay for a membership. We're going through the same stuff that you guys are going through. Maybe a little bit different words, maybe a little bit different scenarios. Well, you don't understand me. No, I don't. But if we don't understand you.

Brent Wright (36:56)
Mm-hmm.

Blair Armstrong (37:14)
or we don't think that we're hitting the right spots, why aren't you letting us know?

Brent Wright (37:18)
Yeah.

Blair Armstrong (37:19)
So I love this topic that you brought up too, because I think that it is just like, okay, we know we've been given a path. Stick with it. Figure it out. Stop being a silo. Let us help you one way or another, or let us get you appointed to somebody. Brett and I over, I am now gonna be, God, I'm doing, gonna be 57. What the hell, bro?

Brent Wright (37:38)
.

Holy smokes,

you're getting old. We're not getting old, you're getting old.

Blair Armstrong (37:46)
I

just getting old this podcast is meaning more and more for me But anyway is I think that you and I over the course of times with all the shaking hands and kissing babies We do we have someone to get someone connected one way or another There's not anywhere in the world that we cannot get you

with health issues, with, we've got people. And typically if it's not one, it's probably two or three phone calls away. And I'm confident in saying that just with the people that we're surrounded with, the different people that we know. So, that's, it's just to say is right now, here we are, we've talked about this. Instead of talking every year, 2025 is gonna be my year, 2026 is gonna be my year, today is your year.

Brent Wright (38:06)
We got people.

Mm-hmm.

Blair Armstrong (38:36)
Today's your year. Why are you gonna wait to January 1st to start planning out your 2026 and da da da? Every business or stuff like that, so you're already talking about, okay, we have to plan for 2026. Well, you should be in 2026 right now.

Brent Wright (38:50)
You should have been in it six months ago. ⁓

Blair Armstrong (38:51)
Six months ago, really. And that's the best.

I just got into a last month or this it started December 1st. Brent's been planning his 26, six year, know, six months ago. And then he's going to get halfway. He's going to get to June and all of a now it's going to be starting to talk about 2027 and how that looks.

Brent Wright (39:11)
So I wrote down some more notes. The path chooses you when you choose yourself. At the end of the day, picking your path isn't about being fearless, it's about being honest. Honest about what you want, honest about what you're avoiding, honest about who you know you can become.

If you stopped waiting for clarity, validation, or the perfect moment, what path would you choose today?

And more importantly, what steps are you willing to take? Because the path isn't somewhere out there waiting for you. It's being built by the decisions that you make today.

Blair Armstrong (39:44)
brother.

Good stuff today, dude.

Yeah.

Brent Wright (39:47)
I have one final thought before you ask. Cause I, this is, I don't know about you, but the last few podcasts have just been cruising by dude. Like so many good things, so much good conversation. I feel like this is a flow that we've been needing to get into for quite a while. And I really hope that people see that, that change in us. We have evolved. Go back and listen to episode number one where we're stumbling over technology and we're stumbling over our words.

Blair Armstrong (39:49)
Yeah.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Ha

Brent Wright (40:14)
And you know, I've lost a little bit more hair. You've lost a little bit more hair. We got some headphones. We got some cooler microphones, but really, you know.

Blair Armstrong (40:17)
Yeah.

Brent Wright (40:23)
Final words are you have to choose boldly, walk bravely, and design a life that feels like yours.

And in doing so, you will inadvertently go make a damn difference.

Blair Armstrong (40:37)
It's been so solid the last two weeks. I have nothing. It's just it's just good ish, man. And guys, as I said, the beginning of episode, watch this once, twice, three times, share it with whoever that you need to share it with, share who needs to hear it. You haven't done so yet. Brent Wright (41:21)
And how can we help you get there?

Blair Armstrong (41:31)
That's awesome. mean,

Gerard's Business Window Cleaning.

Brent Wright (41:42)
So windows, roofs, ⁓ soft wash, pressure wash, gutters, all those things.

Blair Armstrong (41:44)
Yeah.

It's just evolved, right? So,

and one last thing, because we never mentioned this, but I think that we've come far enough. We run this podcast with their own money. And I know that you probably see other podcasts that have advertisers do some cool stuff and they have all this stuff. Not really gonna get advertisers with us. So if you want to support us, find out what our businesses are and support us that way. us to Real Estate.

go to the Body Shop, go to the Wellness Center, buybustatees.com. One thing that we didn't mention that he's really good at, because you heard a lot about him today, is he's a really great, and this is Brent, by the way. Brent is a really good personal coach and a really, really, really good business coach. So again, if your path of life or business is stuck, call him to reach out to him. Super easy to get a hold of.

because we're all over social media. So it's not hard to find us and we're all over YouTube. So anyway, that's it, man. Have a great freaking week. Don't let the potholes get in the way of your path. Just fill them up with the lessons learned and move freaking forward. But again, until we see each other next week, stay safe and most of all, God bless guys. Take care.
