Brent Wright (02:47)
Hmm hmm.
Blair Armstrong (03:11)
on or before this episode and it will go from there. But on my left, as of right now, could possibly switch over to my right the time we edit this and get this out to you as my good friend for almost 30 years, Brent Wright of Brent Wright Incorporated. He is the co-finder. So I'm one of the founders. He's the other founder. Sometimes he's the yin, sometimes he's the yang, but we'll figure that out today. So what's going on with you, my dude? How are you?
Brent Wright (03:32)
Hahaha!
Good, good. It's been an odd week for me. I didn't tell you this pre-show, with weed eating and cutting stuff back, blackberries, just seemed in Oregon, it's like, I swear that's our, you know, state flour or state weed or whatever is a blackberry, even though it's not, but I almost feel like it is, because that's what tends to grow around here, but very intrusive.
Blair Armstrong (03:58)
Right?
Brent Wright (04:05)
I was cutting some blackberries and kicked up an in-ground hornet nest and got stung multiple times up my arm and on my hand and then got one right on the lip. And my lip swelled up to my nose and was blocking my nostrils and was like all the way down. Like I just, it looked like I got punched in the mouth, but I did by a bee or by a hornet rather. And so I took two.
Blair Armstrong (04:18)
Wow.
Brent Wright (04:32)
Benadryl and I've just been on a Benadryl hangover for like all week long. Like I can't formulate thoughts. I can't hold conversations without like being like, I just don't remember what I was gonna say a minute ago. And it feels like a mental, like I'm on a drug. Imagine that, right? So, ⁓ but.
Blair Armstrong (04:37)
Ugh.
Yeah.
Brent Wright (04:56)
You know, I tried to eat all the natural stuff and that definitely helped on my arm, but it was really hard to put it all on there with my mustache. I don't, I was gonna take a video or a picture, I was in so much pain. have you ever had like teeth pain, mouth pain, face pain? Like it just, it's mentally debilitating. Like I couldn't.
Blair Armstrong (05:04)
⁓ Do you have a picture of that? ⁓ man. I would have posted that shit.
Brent Wright (05:21)
And I'm not a sitter, but I literally couldn't get up off the couch for like 20, 30 minutes. I just sit there with ice and I was like, I can't handle this. And I'm like, go find me the Benadryl April. And so she did and it was bad.
Blair Armstrong (05:28)
can't imagine,
Do you ever watch that movie Hitch? Did you look like that? Oh my God.
Brent Wright (05:38)
Yes, yeah, yeah. Yes, 100 % just on one just on one lip though. Not
not both lips, so yeah.
Blair Armstrong (05:47)
Yeah, that sucks, man. Well, what's going on? Yeah. So that happened. How many days ago?
Brent Wright (05:50)
So it's been, yeah, it's
That was on Sunday and that kind of really put the kibosh to my productivity for a couple hours. And then I just dove right back in. It was like, I'm powering through this.
Blair Armstrong (05:56)
Okay.
Wear some long sleeves and a face cover.
Brent Wright (06:08)
No, I didn't go do any more blackberry cutting. I changed and did a whole bunch of other stuff. So right now I'm putting in a pool, an above ground pool, but I dug a hole in the side of the mountain and framed it up with eco blocks. And so we're putting it sort of ground level-ish with a little deck and a little more permanent installation. But when you live on a hill, there's no flat spots unless you make them.
Blair Armstrong (06:10)
Okay
Right? Right?
Nope.
Yeah. Are you pouring foundation on that too or just you're gonna beat down the ground and cue? Okay.
Brent Wright (06:37)
Yeah.
Nope, just used EcoBlocks and then we're
putting in masonry sand underneath the pool. But it'll be semi-permanent, but replaceable. So what I'll be able to do is, you know, I'm building a deck around it, but I'm gonna leave a little bit of a gap so that way if we ever need to tear the pool out or put a new liner in, it's serviceable and things. Correct, yep.
Blair Armstrong (06:48)
far out.
Yeah, don't have to tear the deck out.
Well, very good. Well, I was going to say how was your week, but you were, you just explained how your week was. How's 4th of July weather? coming, mean, tomorrow's 4th of July, so when you guys see this, probably get this out today. So if you see it tomorrow, happy 4th of July. But gearing up to 4th of July weekend, what do you have planned going on this week for the rest of the weekend?
Brent Wright (07:15)
Yeah, yeah.
Mm-hmm.
⁓ so
the, kids are staying with grandma, and grandpa for most of the week, weekend. I shouldn't say most of the weekend there. we're taking a short little detour to the coast house and, Lincoln and I are going to go fishing and crabbing tomorrow. He's never been fishing and, he got, for Easter, he got some fishing gear and he was pretty excited about that. So he wants to go and we're gonna, we're gonna do that. And,
April and Emma will hang out at the Coast House and relax and do things there. and, um, yeah, we're just going to take a couple of chill days, uh, and not produce something other than maybe a fish or, or, or a crab and, and then back at it. We'll be back on Saturday afternoon and, um, and ready to rock and roll for Sunday church and then, uh, finish out the pool and get that installed.
Blair Armstrong (08:10)
Right? ⁓
Brent Wright (08:27)
supposed to be in the nineties, eighties and high eighties and low nineties again next week. Right now it's overcast and oddly, oddly calm and coolish, but it's supposed to be like 80, 85, 86 today, so.
Blair Armstrong (08:29)
Go.
Yeah, we're coming to the teeth of summer. Uh, uh, here. mean, this is, this is where we're, we just flipped the switch and we had a pretty long gated June, which temperatures were warm during the day, but really cool. And say, and now we're just, uh, I think starting either tomorrow or Saturday or those will be 84 degrees. Yeah, it's just, it's just, this is the worst part about being the desert. I'm gonna say we have about eight and a half months.
Brent Wright (09:06)
Whoo, firing the hole.
Blair Armstrong (09:15)
great great weather just phenomenal weather and just these that's through about mid September it's just you just kind of like oh man two months of this let's go so country club problems uh we'll be golfing on tomorrow with some friends of ours from Chicago uh at two o'clock in the afternoon so it'll be a nice balmy uh about 110 tomorrow when we're out in the course it'll be cool not anymore dude
Brent Wright (09:25)
Mm-hmm.
Nice.
But it's a dry heat, right? ⁓
Blair Armstrong (09:44)
The the errors have shifted. get a we get the monsoon weather that kicks up from the Gulf of Mexico. So the ends actually switch from the West from the income from the from the East or Southeast. And so we get some high humidity for us, which is, you know, 40 to 40 to 50 percent humidity, which is nothing for you guys over there. But for us, it's it's almost like it feels like it's raining. But anyway, as I said to is, you know, as I'm.
doing this podcast, I stare out of this window right now and I'm overlooking a golf course in green trees and it's pretty amazing, especially when you're air conditioning. ⁓ it's good to be king, right?
Brent Wright (10:20)
Well, and that goes to our subject today. You know, it's good to be king, right? And so,
you know, you're sitting there, you know, I don't want to say bitching, but, you know, it's commenting on that it's going to be hot and it's going to be balmy, it's going to be this, but like you said, country club problems, right? And so, or first world problems or...
Blair Armstrong (10:29)
No.
Yeah. Yeah.
Brent Wright (10:43)
USA problems or any place that is economically stable. Again, we woke up, right? You woke up, you set vertical. So I won. I won. We've talked about this before. I woke up in the USA. I won. Yep. I had food in my fridge. Yeah, exactly. God bless the USA, right? So that's a great song, by the way.
Blair Armstrong (10:51)
Right.
Right.
I won.
Right?
Brent Wright (11:08)
And I got food in my fridge, food in my cupboards. I got gas in my car. Got a little money in the bank. I have a list of constitutional rights that I can exercise. And unless I step on somebody else's head to get across the pond, I don't get in trouble for them, right? And so it is good to be king. And Tom Petty said it. In fact, there's a great song for old guys that still rock.
that it is, it's good to be king. said, and in that song, he said, it's good to be king, even if it is just for a little while.
Blair Armstrong (11:39)
Yeah. And it really comes down to you. I'm glad that you said that because it was kind of part of our devotional today and really what we've been talking over the last couple of weeks of communication. But you know, it is good to be king and you can have that mindset. You can be a king. That king that that mindset comes with responsibility though, right? As you said, pre show, there's a good part of being about a king and there's a bad part about it a king and
You know, I think I love for you to go back down that road and it kind of explained to what you said to you. Like the good part is everything what you just said. We live in the best country in the world, regardless of what's going on right now. I, we understand that media and, and reality TV wants to spin it a different way. But gosh darn it. What Brent just said is how amazing is that you got to wake up and you got to make decisions. What you did this morning.
Brent Wright (12:35)
And there's a lot of countries in this planet that cannot do that. They can't, you know, there's places where women can't dress the way that they want. They have to walk three feet behind their husbands or else they'll get stoned to death or their head cut off, right? There's places where...
Blair Armstrong (12:40)
Yeah.
Right?
Brent Wright (12:52)
where you can't talk about your political viewpoints with anybody. You can't talk about anything that you have passion for. You can't have a religion that goes against what other people say. Again, it's...
Blair Armstrong (13:11)
It's good to be king. It's good to be king.
Brent Wright (13:12)
It's good to be king. mean, this,
I want to read some of this. I don't know if you guys have looked this up or heard the song, but it says it's good to be king if just for a while. That's one of them.
It's good to be king of your own little town.
It's good to be king and have your own way. Get a feeling of peace at the end of the day.
And when your bulldog barks and your canary sings, you're out with the winners. It's good to be king.
It's good to be king and have your own world. It helps to make friends. It's good to meet girls. A sweet little queen who can't run away. It's good to be king whatever it pays.
That's it.
Blair Armstrong (13:51)
So I hope that you guys that are listening to this or watching this, whatever, which way are you doing both is really go back and say that because that is just basically, I hope that paints a picture because it's basically saying you can be a king every day. It is a mindset. This is the only place in the world that you get to be. You get to decide if I'm going to be a king today and you can be.
Brent Wright (14:18)
Yeah.
Blair Armstrong (14:20)
and there can be multiple kings. Everyone can actually be king in their community. It's a mindset. Just like you said, know, Brent was like, I got to wake up, you know, I'm grateful that I got to wake up this morning and go downstairs, do my devotionals and had a cup of coffee and not worry about anything but just being in that moment. I am grateful that you and I.
Brent Wright (14:24)
Yeah.
Blair Armstrong (14:44)
and this is not a grateful, but, but we get to do this podcast. We get to do this podcast. It's not, we didn't get up and like, my God, you're forcing it. We get to do this because we live in America. We can just say things that are on our mind without any repercussions of what might happen to us. Just there's a freedom in that. Now can society or somebody that watches this hate that workings
Brent Wright (14:48)
Mm-hmm. Yeah
Mm-hmm.
Blair Armstrong (15:12)
Absolutely. Right. So that is one of the, that's one of journey of being a Kings. There are going to be people that want to take us out or, these are just two guys that blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And they suck because we're Kings.
Brent Wright (15:28)
Exactly.
Blair Armstrong (15:30)
And so that's the part about it. So how are you, how are you, that's right. know, everything that you said to us, again, said to me, pre show is this painting, this picture, how am I running my kingdom today? And my kingdom is everything that surrounds me, right? My moat to do that. And I just love that you've come up with this subject because it just,
Brent Wright (15:50)
Yeah.
Blair Armstrong (15:56)
In this world of yuckiness right now, if we just had that little mindset of like, I'm going to be a king, but in my kingdom, I'm going to be a servant king, a servant king. I'm going to, have a kingdom that I'm helping people. So there's no reason for them to be mad or upset or hateful. And that takes a lot of work. ⁓
Brent Wright (16:19)
It takes a lot of work, dude. A lot of work.
I mean, we talked about it. Part of it's the communication that we talked about over the last couple of weeks. ⁓ You know, if you are pushing your agenda to be king and other people's or, you know, other people are pushing their agenda to be king, then you're not communicating. Then then it goes back to what we talked about pre show, right? So the king has the best of both worlds and the worst of both worlds because
Blair Armstrong (16:27)
Right?
Mm-hmm.
Brent Wright (16:47)
Back in the days of kings and knights and queens and all those things, you know, we see it on the movies, we see it depicted in books and things like that, that, you know, the king had it all. He had all the gold, he had all the servants, he had the big house, the big moat, all the cool stuff. He had all the warriors who wanted to protect him, right? But why did he need those warriors? Because everybody was trying to be king and take him over and cut his head off. So...
Blair Armstrong (16:59)
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
Brent Wright (17:15)
On one side, he had the best bed to sleep in, although he had to sleep with one eye open and could never get rest because he was worried about getting beheaded. Well, we don't have to worry about that today. It's a different place, different time, a different, you know, we've got rules and constitutions and laws and all those things that protect us from a lot of that. But that could be a parable though, right? So whenever you're succeeding,
Blair Armstrong (17:35)
Mm-hmm.
Brent Wright (17:43)
People are always trying to take it away from you. People are always trying to, for lack of a better word, crap in your nest. Well, this person's winning, so they're this, or they're evil, or they're not a Christian, or they're not this, or they're not that, or they are this. There's a whole slew of people in this world who don't want to see others win.
Blair Armstrong (17:49)
Mm-hmm.
Brent Wright (18:06)
And we know for a fact, and I'm pounding on my desk, yes, because it pisses me off. We know for a fact that you can never be successful if you don't celebrate other people's successes. If you're truly not happy to see other people win, you will never truly win, period. Just not physically, mathematically, spiritually, universally possible.
Blair Armstrong (18:10)
Hahaha!
So that leads the point to.
Are you running with other kings?
Or are you running with people that want to take you out?
Brent Wright (18:39)
Well, not to get political, but I'm gonna go down that road a little bit.
Blair Armstrong (18:42)
you told me not to go there. Look at you now.
Brent Wright (18:45)
So I'm just
going to go to a headline, okay? I don't wanna really go too far deep into it because I don't understand the thought process and the premise. But again, going back to what I just said for the universal rule is to celebrate others. And to have or promote a day a couple of weeks ago that was no King's Day, I don't understand that concept.
Blair Armstrong (18:49)
Yeah, right.
Brent Wright (19:10)
That doesn't make any sense to me. That doesn't feel like positivity. It doesn't feel like productivity. It doesn't feel like I'm happy that others are winning in life and celebrating those folks. It seems very negative, truthfully.
Blair Armstrong (19:27)
Yeah, you know, again, it's, here is.
You know that you know things that get put in the media and they have this no Kings Day and you get a couple guys they want to go ahead and and Stir stuff up because there's people in power that they may not like or there's a perceive there's a perceived power You know But one of the things that I love about the people that I have that we have following us and Comment on us and actually I've got to go back there and he left us a couple great comments and I'll try to get to him today
Brent Wright (19:31)
you
Blair Armstrong (19:57)
But anyway, what I wanted to say about that is.
then be a king. Everyone's looking for someone to lead them instead of them being a leader. So what I was really even going to, and I got sidetracked for a second, is like, our lead, our people that watch us or follow us and leave comments to us, in my mind, they're kings. The people that we've had on our show, they're kings. ⁓
Brent Wright (20:07)
Yeah.
Mm-hmm.
Blair Armstrong (20:22)
They would say, no, no, no, no, because there's such a servant mentality. They're always looking to help somebody. Every single person that we've had on here has had some part of servant leadership in their life. And that's why we love this show, because the people that we have here are smart. They can read between the lines. They're constantly looking to get better. They're servant leaders. They are the true kings of our society. Are there more than them?
100%. So having yes, no Kings was was painted as this big, big notion in it. And tomorrow we're going to go celebrate Independence Day. So what an oxymoron, right? I'm like,
Brent Wright (20:51)
You
Well, and then the beauty of this, check this out.
They created a day.
go against people, all while having the rights to be able to do that.
Blair Armstrong (21:14)
Do
that. Yeah.
those people do not follow us. I will tell you that right now. Right. Yeah.
Brent Wright (21:18)
Well, and if they do, good for you. Let's have a chat. Let's sit down and
chat about this because I'm intrigued. I'm interested in to understand the mindset. You mentioned it, that you had a meeting or had an opportunity to chat with somebody who isn't like-minded and you had a great conversation and you guys actually found some common ground to stand on together.
Blair Armstrong (21:35)
Yeah.
Yeah, I mean, we we went to dinner last night of slowly building relationship with these people. It's it's awesome. If you looked on us on paper what our beliefs are politically, which was, if we went back 20 years ago, it wouldn't be that big a deal. But if you went and looked on a piece of paper politically like, oh, my God, there's no way we're putting these two guys together for dinner. And we have listen.
We didn't talk politics. We just talked about our beliefs of what America is supposed to be like. And that's really what it is. And I think if you really dig in for you guys, the first time checking out here, if you really dug or peeled back the onion on Brett and I, we are super independent. We just want to have a good society. We want everything that you guys want. We want to have the freedom. We want to have a good life. We want to have security. We want to have all this stuff. And if somebody does something wrong,
there are consequences for those wrongdoings, whatever it is, from very light consequences to very heavy consequences, but there's consequences to every decision, good or bad to be about there. But that's really what it was. It's like, and our ending conversation was, it is what us as society has created with reality TV shows, with different parts of social media. Now people will go, well, you're on social media. Yes, but we're taking a message like,
When is enough enough? We want everybody that watches this show that hopes that when you get done is that you're going to be a little bit better today. This not selling you books. We're not selling you to advertise. We're not selling it in a romco 1995. There's no money grab here. So us getting to do this again, this is an opportunity for us to get to this and share like, listen, we may not agree on every single thing that we do. There's a lot of stuff that like
Brent Wright (23:19)
There's no money grab here.
Blair Armstrong (23:35)
Brent's vacation is going to last 48 hours. I don't know how that works. I don't, I don't even to know it. I'm like, God, that's, that was the worst vacation ever. But so those are the types of things, but that's what I'm saying is that we sat down and you know, I wasn't, I was not going to cross that, that threshold when we did it, but there's just so much commonality and we get lost in the minutia of well,
Brent Wright (23:40)
You're not even done traveling in that 48 hours.
Blair Armstrong (24:03)
this, I don't like this person because of this and I don't like this person about this. I'm like, okay, but what about your kingdom? What about your kingdom? If you had a kingdom, what would it look like? And my kingdom and this guy's kingdom were pretty close to being the same thing.
Brent Wright (24:15)
Mm-hmm.
Well, what gets me, so here's my impasse on that. And this isn't even a political thing. This is just a core belief thing. The people that say, hate, fill in the blank. Once you spew that amount of negativity, what I hear you say after that is nothing, is garbage. I check out. As soon as you say, I hate anything, I'm done talking to you. I'm done listening.
I'm done absorbing, I'm done even validating the fact that you even might have another opinion.
Blair Armstrong (24:55)
And, and that's where you go back to, like, I don't, you just said, I don't understand no Kings day. didn't say, hate no Kings day. I don't understand looking for why are you celebrating this? We've, that's why we have fourth of July. Cause we have no Kings. We have some leaders, some leaders are really good. Some perceived leaders really suck. So instead of like concentrating all on your efforts on why you don't like that leader.
Brent Wright (25:09)
Mm-hmm.
Blair Armstrong (25:22)
and reposting stuff or doing whatever or making that a part of your world. What are you doing for your kingdom to make what you don't like better? And I think that is where my
my angst and then get fired up about him. Like, what are you doing in your kingdom to make it better? I understand that you don't like this person and I understand you don't like these type of politics and I get that. But what are you doing instead of being a keyboard warrior or protesting about? You don't even know what you're protesting about. I mean, it's coming. One of things I do love about social media is that
All of those, these paid agitators are getting exposed and we've got these sheep running off the end of the cliff, both sides, picking one side or another, but both sides running off because they're following what this is perceived notion that's really going on. So we're going to beat this into your head today. And it's really good. And this is actually a therapy for me because Brent brought this up is like, how am I going to take this episode and how am I going to take everything that I talk about?
And how am I going to build my kingdom? Am I going to have, what other kingdoms am I going to replicate? How am I going to look at Brent's kingdom and like, God, he did a really good job at that part of that kingdom. Right. And I'm like, I want that in my kingdom. So I'm going to take a little bit pieces of him. I'm going to talk to him a little bit. It's like, you've been really successful in this part of the, in your kingdom here. How'd you do that? How do I get to that? Like, okay, cool.
So now I'm gonna take that to my kingdom and all the people that I associate with, they're gonna emulate it. So when they're built in their kingdom, they're gonna pull that. And it's just a different notation of what we've always said. There's enough room on the top to be a leader. Well, now painted as your kingdom, you've had this wide open opportunity to live inside of America, the greatest country in the world that we get to actually just to get to get to decide is we're gonna build our kingdom today. I'm starting right now today and I'm gonna build my kingdom.
Brent Wright (27:03)
Yep.
Yeah.
Blair Armstrong (27:26)
And it is going to be the greatest kingdom all time. The great thing is you get to share your kingdom with everybody you come in contact with. And they also get to build kingdoms. And all of sudden, you know what? You've got a bunch of kingdoms working together to be great instead of concentrating on all this negativity that you can't control. How awesome is that, right? We get to do that today, tomorrow, and as long as God has us on this earth.
Brent Wright (27:46)
Yeah.
Yeah.
Blair Armstrong (27:56)
We get to go to the ultimate kingdom. You know, when it's time to go see Jesus, we get to go to the kingdom of kingdoms and thank you Jesus for that opportunity. But let's build our kingdom here right now, here on earth and let it emulate it. We've always talked to about engage, equip, and then empower a new kingdom, a new king. That was my soapbox for the next 30 seconds.
Brent Wright (28:15)
Yeah. The, I, I'm
pretty jazzed. You, yeah, you could definitely, you definitely get props for that one. You're, you're, you're on fire. I picked up something out of that and, our previous conversations as well. My opinion is that there is only one man ever on this earth that was worth following.
and everybody else is a complete failure and foul.
And like you said, take part of what it worked in their kingdom that you want to emulate and apply it to yours, but stop following people. And I don't mean follow them like on social media. I'm like, I'm saying don't, don't put them on a pedestal. Don't make them a hero that they're not.
You know, they say never meet your heroes because they're gonna let you down. I will tell you that I have lived that more times than not. I'm a quick learner, but sometimes I'm a hard-headed learner too. And I got to fail at that something like three and four and five times before I'm like, okay, I'm done beating my head against the wall with this.
Blair Armstrong (29:12)
yeah.
Yeah.
Brent Wright (29:27)
for a little bit, cause then I'll try it again sometimes. So, don't know. I don't know. This one really resonated with me. The fact that people didn't understand.
what I was saying.
Blair Armstrong (29:37)
Because, you know, and I hear what you're saying. And there's few of us, I mean, just like the people that listen to this show, there's a, and our following is not a following of like, my God, Brett and Blair are the greatest. It's helping them build their kingdom. But there is people that have been taught through so many different avenues that you're not good enough to be king.
You don't have what it takes for you to be king. You're not in the position to be king. It's not in your bloodline to be a king, which is total bullshit.
Brent Wright (30:14)
Change your bloodline.
Blair Armstrong (30:15)
And if it hasn't been in your bloodline to exactly now, if you're 20 years old, if you're 30 years old, if you're 70 years old and you're watching this because someone sent this to you.
How's your chance to change it?
Brent Wright (30:29)
I post this all the time, be the change you seek. If you are seeking a change in the world, in others, look to yourself first, be that change. And then everyone around you will change, I promise you. And that might be a good thing, because there might be people that are in your life that won't be there after you make that change. And that's okay.
Blair Armstrong (30:57)
Yeah, there's going to be people that are dying and are looking for that avenue and that hope. that's why, know, we, Brent and I always say this is be the changes you seek. And if you don't know how to make that change, then find somebody that has, that is building the kingdom that you really want to be a part of and emulate what they do.
And then take what is I said, I just said this earlier, so I'm repeating myself, but take what they do and then make your kingdom a little bit better. But in the meantime is don't hide that. And now this is where I, this is my downfall because I I'm super competitive and I'm like, you know, I have a dark energy that I hold onto a little too tight. Let's in a while.
Which is not a bad thing. It's a good thing to have that to kind of get me to this thing. But so don't take that negatively for your first timers that are listening. ⁓
Brent Wright (31:51)
Well,
to have the light, you have to have the darkness. There has to be a contrast, okay?
Blair Armstrong (31:53)
You have to have the
target, 100%. And it's just, you've gotta share that stuff. And I'm at a crosswords with that because I am.
you know, we'll have an episode of this, but I am trying to change this kingdom that is underperforming. And it is there. I have not been my best Blair because I'm just so engulfed in like, we can't let this be okay anymore. It's been okay for five years and there's keeps excuses in.
empty promises and doing some different things and so that kingdom comes with a price and That price may be not be a fun price to swallow for a little bit There is going to be some sacrifices. There's going to be some hurt feelings But you can't just say you know what? That's it. I'm out. I'm not going to do this. No one's following you. So you a kingdom does not get built overnight
Brent Wright (32:38)
Mm-hmm.
you
Blair Armstrong (32:59)
Kingdom will the kingdom will stop being built the time that you go see Jesus, but hopefully you've left a good enough ripple effect on Building that kingdom that the next person who's coming to emulate in their kingdom takes those and makes those better So that is the part you said a little bit
Brent Wright (33:14)
But it doesn't
take long to crumble a kingdom as well, right?
Blair Armstrong (33:17)
True, you make bad decisions,
right? We're always talking about one decision away from having a cannonball go through the side of your castle and everything's ruined from there. So it's just...
Brent Wright (33:21)
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
Blair Armstrong (33:31)
It's a lot mad. there's, I know that we painted a rosy picture about being king, but there's responsibilities that come with that. And not letting the power, not letting the spotlight of your kingdom overpower you to where the darkness.
Brent Wright (33:46)
Mm-hmm.
Blair Armstrong (33:48)
of the battle destroys you.
Brent Wright (33:51)
Yeah.
Blair Armstrong (33:52)
So it's just, it is, you know, it's just so many things that we've talked about for 108 other episodes and how this culminates to this. it seems like every episode culminates with a common thread of this. you know, it is a constant evolution of searching for greatness, chasing perfection and settling on excellence, but realizing that. that's where you know, going back just a little bit further.
Brent Wright (33:54)
Okay.
Blair Armstrong (34:20)
once you know I'm talking about this, well how do you do that? Well, as I just said a little bit earlier, what Brett said a little bit too is, who are you surrounding yourself? Are you surrounding yourself with great kingdoms? Are you surrounding yourself with crumbled kingdoms? And for only reason you get to be greater or to be better is to find the great kingdoms and surround yourself with those and also help them get better too, so.
Brent Wright (34:44)
Mm-hmm.
Blair Armstrong (34:44)
I know we repeated herself a couple times, but I really want to get that through and I just, and really understand that everyone gets to be King, not just one person, everyone gets to bring it. So I'm going to bring back, um, celebrate Kings day. And that's very sarcastic.
Brent Wright (35:02)
Well, and we said this earlier, it is a mindset. You have to you have to understand that. Your actions will be judged. By others. And and so you need to put forth positivity. A mindset that is servant leader, you need to put forth.
Blair Armstrong (35:06)
Yeah.
Brent Wright (35:26)
an opportunistic scenario that benefits yourself as well as others. It can't be one-sided. And so being from a mindset, the last sentence in this song by Tom Petty, it says, excuse me if I have some place in my mind where I go from time to time.
Blair Armstrong (35:47)
Mmm.
Brent Wright (35:48)
And that just proves it out that.
to be a king is 100 % mindset and action. And we've talked about this in several other episodes. Faith without works is dead. You must create action. And it first starts in the culmination of your thoughts and your feelings and the soul that you put into what you're doing.
Blair Armstrong (36:13)
Yeah, to expand on that, that's why what I really miss right now is on it for a couple days, I'm not off a couple days and really dismiss it, but visualization, manifestation. So when Tom Petty is saying that and instead of, excuse me from time to time, or if I for time to time.
Brent Wright (36:34)
Excuse
me if I have place, if I have some place in my mind where I go from time to time.
Blair Armstrong (36:40)
All right there. It's all right there. Building your kingdom, putting it out at the university. You've heard it a thousand times from great leaders. And those leaders would tell you this set of things, that know, the Tony Robbins, the Ed Milets, the Andy Verceles, the Grovers. I mean, the list goes on and on and on. They are giving you golden nuggets to build your kingdom.
Brent Wright (36:48)
you
Blair Armstrong (37:08)
They've got there, this is how they built, and we all look like, oh my gosh, if I could be like that, well, then why don't you? You know, what's this, at the of the day, I'm like, why am I not the best realtor right now? Have I invested in my kingdom of being the best realtor right now? What's the price of that? If I do become the best realtor in the Coachella Valley or United States or the nation, which is the same thing, but maybe in the world.
you know, in the top 10 of the world, what did I do to get there and what am I doing to help others get there? Because Brent always, yeah, but, because you say this a lot, I have 30 summers left, right? So what am I doing in my kingdom to lay the groundwork and the foundation
Brent Wright (37:48)
So really ask yourself the question, go ahead, go ahead.
Mm-hmm. Yeah.
Blair Armstrong (38:05)
for kingdoms to come behind me. keeping that in the art of when you're in a battle, and we're in a battle every day, but keeping that in the mindset is like, okay, this day sucked, this was not a fun battle day, but what did I do? What did I get to do today that laid the foundation for others? And so when my summers are over here on Earth,
what kingdoms will come up behind me on the things that I did and emulate to get there. And those are the things that are going to make you great. And everybody, everybody has an opportunity.
Brent Wright (38:41)
Well, and on that, I'll steal your thunder. My last thought before we close out is exactly that. I have 30 summers left-ish, maybe more, maybe less. You never know when you're going. But why don't we live our lives with contempt? So really ask yourself that. Look up the word, big word of the day, contempt, use it in sentence.
Blair Armstrong (38:44)
Okay.
Brent Wright (39:06)
meaning why aren't you going to battle every day to win? So you said it, well, I could be one of the top 10. No, why aren't you going at that battle that I'm gonna be number one in the world every day, right? Because I think oftentimes we settle
Blair Armstrong (39:25)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Brent Wright (39:33)
We settle because of the energy around us, the people around us.
and our lack of self-worth.
and our lack of self-promotion. And I think we really need to reevaluate that as a society, reevaluate that as a person.
I just, you gotta go at this like it's like you're fighting a war. Cause you are every single day, every day it's a war. And if you're not going at it, like you're fighting a war, then likely you're going to be a casualty.
Blair Armstrong (40:04)
And, you know, in my world, what I'm surrounded by with, you, I have a little bit older, not older, I have to change it with people. I was on the kick for a while. I have a lot of seasoned people in my life. And sometimes that, that fire gets taken out. God, what a great time in America to rekindle that fire.
and repaint your kingdom, shine it up, get the people around you to help you shine up your kingdom and build up the walls and fill the cracks that need to be filled and go back out there and start planning other kingdoms around you. Because this right now is, you know, and we, you and I hear this a lot, Brent, this is the greatest time in America to make a
massive, massive change into the direction of a society that is looking for direction. Because there is a lot of just, you know, we're 10 second Toms right now and it's what's next and what's next. Be that kingdom, be that king every day. Every day you get to be king.
Brent Wright (41:08)
Yeah.
Blair Armstrong (41:22)
go out and lay the groundwork for that kingdom.
Brent Wright (41:27)
I said that was the last thing, but I have one more thing. I have a guy that I follow and I don't know if he got it somewhere else or he just posted it or what have you. But he said, the world is splitting into two, the have-nots and the have-yots.
Blair Armstrong (41:28)
I know.
Brent Wright (41:44)
Which one do you wanna be?
Blair Armstrong (41:46)
And we get to do it.
Brent Wright (41:47)
We get to make the choice.
Blair Armstrong (41:49)
Yeah.
Good job, dude. You know, God bless America. It's all that stuff, red, white and blue, regardless of what your feelings are, what the climate of, of, of, of our United States. I hope that you take a day off and, just really think about, just look around, you know, there's some stupid shit that goes around. We get that. But for the most part, it's pretty, it's pretty good. It's, it's a good life, man. We're sitting here talking to you on some pretty
equipment that we get to choose that we get to buy and that we bought and put out and do some stuff. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Brent Wright (42:20)
And it's not banned, it's not banned. You couldn't do this in China. You couldn't
start a podcast in China, it doesn't happen.
Blair Armstrong (42:26)
Well, final thoughts for you.
Brent Wright (42:29)
